Hello lovelies!
If you don’t know Aya Nakamura, that’s a big mistake!
Indeed, this French-Malian songstress has taken the French and international charts by storm. With more than 1 billion views on YouTube, she is also a force to be reckoned with. And her ever growing career in France is a living testimony to that.
However, with her recent collaborations with Mac and LancĂ´me, she is slowly and steadily investing the world of beauty. I guess her unique beauty style really helped!
Also, I wanted to share her beauty secrets with you because she has been chosen to sing Edith Piaf’s La Vie en Rose at the opening of the Olympic Games. And also because I like her personality!
Without further ado, let’s discover Aya Nakamura beauty secrets together!

Aya Nakamura beauty secrets: her skincare routine
Our girl has a rather simple skincare routine. Indeed, she cleanses her skin and uses the fancy Creme de La Mer. From time to tine, she enjoys getting clay masks. For her body, she uses the Balancing Body Cream by Rituals.
And that’s all. Well, for a simple routine, the results are spectacular. Her skin is looking really good! Her super simple skincare routine just reflects what I always say: keep it super simple ladies!
Aya Nakamura beauty secrets: her diet and exercise routine
Unlike many American superstars, Aya Nakamura doesn’t follow a strict diet. Indeed, she’s rather fond of fast food and all the other good foods you can find in France. And if she’s also a fan of African food, I understand why she doesn’t want to diet. We, French-African women, really love food! And we’re unapologetic about it!
However, her love of food doesn’t prevent Aya Nakamura from being body-conscious. Hence, she tries to compensate by including some exercise in her routine. For instance, she enjoys biking. If you’re in Aya’s case, I’d give you an advice: don’t do it! This system where you compensate a bad diet with exercise lasts only while you’re in your 20s.
Indeed, when you reach your 30s, your body makes you pay what you did in your 20s and your teenage years. And I’m the living proof of that. Consequently, I advise you to start watching what you eat early.
Aya Nakamura beauty secrets: her hair care tips
Oh, Aya Nakamura gave us all types of looks with her hair! Indeed, she’s not afraid to experiment with extensions and wigs. And she’s done all types of hairstyles and colors: long, short, blue, yellow, green, sleek, curly…And the list goes on!
However, despite experimenting a lot, Aya Nakamura doesn’t forget the fragile nature of her curly Afro hair. Thus, she gives them the extra TLC with ORS Olive Oil line. In particular, she washes her hair with their shampoo and mask. Also, she seals her hair in moisture with their nourishing spray.
What you need to take from her is the following: always take care of your hair underneath your wigs! You may experiment, but don’t neglect your hair. Otherwise, you’ll might end up like Naomi Campbell and have severe alopecia…And I don’t wish that for you!
Aya Nakamura beauty secrets: her makeup tips
Her makeup is really one of a kind. Indeed, Aya Nakamura is the girl who assumes her “fakeness”. She has always a face full of make-up, with fake nails, and fake lashes. However, her unique style is what makes her stand out. Whether you like her or not, her makeup reflects her personality, and she’s not shy to show it.
Let’s take on this funny story with Vogue…
On this case, I want to share a story about her. Recently, Aya made the cover of Vogue France to celebrate her successful career and her upcoming participation to the Olympic Games. The makeup artist wanted to give a Grace Jones flair, and tone her makeup down. She wanted to align Aya Nakamura with a more natural look, and stay away from fake lashes.
And guess what Aya Nakamura did? She just said a big no! So, they had to compromise and give her usual makeup, with her fake lashes and all. Now that’s what I called a strong woman!
Consequently, her unique beauty brand has attracted the eye of many beauty brands. Since 2023, Aya has joined other black beautiful women such as Lupita Nyongo’o and Zendaya as a LancĂ´me ambassador.
Collaboration Aya X MAC
However, her collaboration with MAC is the one that was talked about a lot in France. In 2028, she launched “Aya x MAC”, a limited makeup collection composed of a lipstick, a gloss, eyeshadows, and…fake lashes, of course! And needless to say, the collection was very successful!
What I like about Aya is that she doesn’t shy away of who she is. She completely assumes her fairness and doesn’t care if she pleases everybody or not. She just moves on!
Even if I’m not a fan of fake lashes and lots of makeup on my face, I agree with her. We should all be able to express our individuality and our uniqueness through our style and makeup. Otherwise, the world would be a dull place…
Aya Nakamura beauty secrets: her perfume
As for her perfumes, she had two favorites, all from Dior: Miss Dior and Poison. However, I believe that Poison is the one that matches her personality the most. Indeed, it is an oriental fragrance made of rich, spicy, floral, and amber notes, with sensual accords of honey and musk. Poison is designed for women who are unforgettable, unique, charismatic, and unapologetic. Just like Aya Nakamura!

Summary: what can we learn from Aya Nakamura beauty secrets?
From Aya Nakamura beauty secrets, I believe we can all agree that the simpler your beauty routine, the better. Also, don’t be afraid to express your unique personality through your makeup.
However, the main thing I take away from Aya Nakamura beauty secrets is her strength of character. Now, I know that’s not part of a beauty routine. However, I do believe that this is the main secret behind her beauty. Whether you like her or not, she keeps moving! If you appreciate her, good for you. If you don’t like her, she’s also fine with it. And only God knows the shitstorm she sometimes receives from haters in France!
For instance, when it was announced that she would perform La Vie en Rose at the Olympic Games, many racist people made derogatory comments on her look, her music style, and even her Malian origins. But she stood up, ignored the haters, and kept going. I stood by her like many people in France. And I hope her performance will kill everything at the Olympic Games, just to silence the haters once and for all!
Well, that’s all for today! What do you think of Aya Nakamura beauty secrets? Feel free to share in the comments!

Thank you for this interesting post on Aya Nakamura’s beauty secrets. It is always interesting to read how the stars are keeping themselves beautiful and be inspired, especially when you realise that they also use the simple things in life like exercising and olive oil to look after themselves.
It isn’t always about plastic surgery and often more about looking after what you have and giving yourself time each day to look after the body that you have.
Exactly !
This was such an insightful read about Aya Nakamura’s beauty secrets! I love how she keeps her skincare routine simple yet effective. I have a few questions:
Are there any specific clay masks Aya prefers, or is it just any clay mask?
How often does she use the ORS Olive Oil line for her hair care routine?
Can you share more details about her collaboration with MAC? Are there any upcoming projects?
Thanks for the great content!
Hello, Aya didn’t precise any brand on clay mask so it can be anything…She didn’t precise how often she washes her hair but it’s probably on a weekly basis or even biweekly basis like many African women. Her collaboration with MAC is found on MAC website. Hope that I’ve answered your questions. Cheers !
Hey a great post you have here!
I always like it when say for example an influencer has a great and warm personality it just makes their routine and products they use so much more believable and worth checking out in comparison to those who just look like they are forcing their opinions. Like you mentioned aya nakamuras routine does sound simple and that is great because who has the time and expense to spend on these products.
Have a great day!
Thanks Sariya !
I’m so inspired by Aya Nakamura’s beauty secrets! I love her simple skincare routine, especially her use of the luxurious Crème de La Mer and the clay masks she enjoys. Also, her dedication to caring for her natural hair with the ORS Olive Oil line is truly unique. It’s great to see someone who values simplicity and hair health so much. Thanks for sharing these insightful details about her beauty regimen!
You’re welcome !
Hi,
I agree, the simpler we are with our beauty regimen, the more we can be pretty.
What is inside our heart contributes greatly on how beautiful we are outside.
But of course, if you are a singer or artist or model, some artificial beauty enhancers are needed, especially with social media on the rise, everything can be seen in you if you’re in the public eye, like Aya Nakamura.
Her strong personality is likewise appreciated as part of her.
Marita
Thanks Marita !
I did not even know this name before I read your article, never mind her music and her personal routines. I have since reading this gone to YouTube to listen to parts of her CD Best Of Aya Nakamura, and I will go back for more, I find your knowledge on her runs deep, as a dedicated fan? I hope others follow her simple routines, but more her boldness and what she stands for, there is no place for racism in this world so well done for including that in this article. I don’t know if it is of interest to you, but I did spot a couple of typos, in the hair comment you say “she had….” should this not be has? and in the hair comment you say ” Aya Nakamura gave us…” should this not be gives ? enjoyed and thank you
Thanks
This is news to me. I live in Japan, so I’m really out of touch since everything from Europe is late arriving here. So, I’m delighted to find your article. I adore Aya and all Black women, in fact.
That’s excellent advice to look after your hair under wigs carefully. I get SO hot and sweaty when I wear them, but I love the dramatic effects they can reek! I can’t imagine what she looks like without her fake eyelashes. Has anyone ever seen her? I bet she’s still fabulously beautiful!
I love your site, so keep writing about all my favourite stars!
Thanks Linden!
Thank you for sharing that great post. I never knew so much about Aya Nakamuras before. I love that she unapologetically does her own thing, she looks how she wants, eats what she likes, and does what she feels like. I think Aya Nakamuras is a great role model for women to be who they want to be and no one else.
Great information for all.
You ‘re welcome !
