Makeup and Skincare
In the 1920s, women embraced makeup as a tool of empowerment and self-expression. Gone were the Victorian Times when makeup was considered as a tool of Satan!
The beauty industry flourished, and brands like Max Factor and Maybelline became household names. The quintessential flapper look included:

What a great read, and it is so interesting to see how styles and values have changed over the decades. What used to be considered taboo is now in, and some beauty trends are so outdated you wonder if they will ever come back.
Look at Marilyn Monroe and the women of her time with their soft curvy bodies. Now it is all streamlined and muscular, although I see that curvey hips and butts are back big time.
I also like how the sixties have never quite left some of us and there will always be someone who sticks to those bell bottoms and flowery styles.

Thanks for your feedback! Personally, I enjoy researching the 20s, the 50s and the 60s. And yes, I believe that each one of these trends will come back in a way or another…Fashion is an eternal cycle!
This is very interesting to see how not only fashion, but also beauty trends have changed over the last century. I was a teenage during the 1970s, and I can clearly remember how all the girls followed Marilyn Monroe, even after her untimely death at a young age.
But the one that had the biggests effect on me when I was a University student, was definitely Farrah Faucet Majors. We all loved her hairstyle and tried to copy it and religiously followed her in Charlie’s Angels. These beauties from the past still inspire women to this day.
