Hello lovelies!
Are you back from holidays and feel tired and lethargic? Well, this phenomenon is normal. Indeed, you all go wild during holidays. You stay up late, you eat everything we want…at the expense of your own wellness.
Well, now that you are coming back in our daily routine, it’s high time you changed your habits. And this includes eating foods that are better for your health, our wellness, and ultimately for our beauty.
That’s where my superfoods list intervenes. Indeed, adding them in your daily diet will boost your health and your beauty, thanks to their high level in vitamins and antioxidants. Let’s discover the 10 best superfoods that can help you!
What is a superfood?
A superfood is a nutritional bombshell providing the human body with plenty of antioxidants, polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals. Indeed, thanks to their high concentration of nutrients, they even surpass commonly recommended foods such broccoli, spinach, blueberries, and pomegranates.
Moreover, the regular consumption has several benefits for the human body. They help people reduce their risk of chronic disease, lower their weight, and significantly increase their overall well-being.
Also, all the superfoods I will list here have many common points. Indeed, they:
- detoxify the body
- fuel the body with energy and nutrients
- rebalance your health
- boost your general physical appearance
Why do we need the best superfoods in our diet?
Nowadays, superfoods are an absolute necessity if you’re health-conscious for many reasons. And this is due to the recent developments that we experienced in our modern world.
Indeed, from the day you’re born, your body is under attack from environmental toxins. Since the body is unable to bind and excrete these toxins effectively, their concentration in your body increases every year.
Consequently, the negative effects are not long in coming. Indeed, your immune system is constantly exposed to severe and permanent stress. Furthermore, your cells become increasingly unable to provide your body with sufficient energy. And all this stress leads to systematic hormonal imbalance.
Thus, superfoods can help your body heal and detoxify. Indeed, thanks to their ability to bind toxins, they:
- help the elimination of toxins in your body
- reduce the concentration of toxins in the long run
- provide your cells with important nutrients to boost cellular energy production to healthy levels
- help to restore your hormonal balance.
Therefore, superfoods seem to be the best and safest way to cleanse, heal, and rebalance our bodies. Also, they’re rather cheap, easy to handle, and versatile.

Best Superfoods: Goji berries
Originating from China, goji berries have been known there as a healing bombshell for 6,000 years. Indeed, they are concentrated bombs of vitamins and nutrients. But what can explain this rise of goji berries as superfoods? Since they contain a high level of antioxidants, they have potent anti-aging effects.
Indeed, goji berries are nutrient-rich and contain a variety of vitamins and minerals. Not only are they rich in antioxidants, but they also contain selenium, carotenoids, and phenols. Also, they promote fat burning and have a positive effect on your skin health.
Also, goji berries will greatly help to detoxify your body. Indeed, many studies have proven that goji berries have positive effects on liver and kidneys.
And last but not least, you can easily incorporate goji berries in your daily diet. For instance, you can add them in your morning muesli, porridge, or yoghurt. Moreover, you can boil them with tea or eat them as a snack. They are very versatile and have a good taste too!
Best Superfoods: Acai berries
This palm fruit has long been a staple ingredient in many Brazilian fruit juices. However, for a long time, acai berries were an insider tip of nutrition experts.
Acai berries are one of the strongest source of vitamin C. Moreover, its effects are up to 30 times stronger than that of synthetically produced commercial vitamin C. Contrary to the synthetic vitamin C, natural vitamin C has a more complex structure. Thus, it will optimally support your immune system, fight free radicals, and help evacuate toxins.
If you don’t find real acai berries, don’t worry! You can buy organic acai powder and include it in your smoothies.
Best Superfoods: Maca root

In its powder form, it is ideal for adding in smoothies, drinks, foods, and juices. However, you should be careful to avoid heat because maca can lose its effects.
Superfood #4: Spirulina and chlorella
These algae are not only the oldest foods in the world, but they are also the smallest. Nevertheless, these microscopic plants represent the richest source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and trace minerals the world has to offer.
For example, one kilogram of spirulina has the same nutrient content than 1,000 kilograms of vegetables. Also, spirulina has 12 times the protein content of a beef. Both algae contains lots of chlorophyll as well, which has a high detoxifying effect on your body. Thus, they will help you build new cells by promoting the detoxification of diseased cells.
Moreover, these algae are complete and amazing products for the skin. Thanks to the chlorophyll they contain, they transport oxygen in your body while eliminating toxins and free radicals. Thus, they will help you have a smooth and radiant skin as well. You can watch visible effects after a 3-week treatment of spirulina and chlorella.
These green algae are sold in powder, tablet, or capsule form. You can add them to your smoothies, juices, and raw desserts. Moreover, you can simply drink them with water.

Moreover, wheatgrass is an excellent source of iron, and contains important enzymes, as well s numerous vitamins and minerals. Superfood #7: Aloe vera
Aloe vera is one the most notorious sap plants. Its leaves are thick and fleshy; and people have used them for centuries to heal several ailments. Indeed, aloe vera is known to relieve burns, soothe ulcers, treat gastrointestinal disorders, and alleviate acne outbreaks.
When the leaves of aloe vera are opened, a clear gel rich in nutrients appears. Indeed, aloe vera gel contains antioxidants such as beta-carotene, vitamins C and E. They help to improve the skin natural firmness, while moisturizing it.

Thanks for this list of nutritional dynamite. My wife and I currently have cocoa powder, chia seeds, aloe vera, and super greens in our pantry. I saved this article because there are some on your list that we will likely try out.
This is the first time I have heard of maca root, and I had never considered flower pollen before.
My wife and I both look a little younger than our chronological age, and we intend to keep it this way. May your list of super foods prove helpful in our efforts. We appreciate this discussion.
Thanks Harry!

Hi Elodie, I couldn’t agree more that super foods are an important factor for promoting health and beauty. However, as a man, my main concern is about health rather than beauty, although, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Before I knew of the term “super food”, I’ve always been intrigued about nutrition and how it affects our overall health.
I can only wonder if it’s a co-incidence that at age 69, on a regular basis, people tell me I look like I’m in my 40s or 50s.
Having said that, I think it’s also vitally important that in addition to eating properly, which includes many, if not all the super foods you’ve recommended, that regular exercise and getting the proper amount of good sleep are necessary ingredients. All the factors must be present.
Exactly! Superfoods are just one element but you must also add exercise, fresh air, and good sleep habits.
Thank you for the article. It’s incredible, what you don’t know until you know it!
I had always thought these superfoods were super because of their vitamin and nutrient content. I had no idea that they had detoxicant or antioxidant properties.
It is important what we put into our bodies. Thank you for this list. I will ensure that I buy some of these for myself to try. I think that goji berries sound especially good, both tasty and beneficial for you.
Simon

I am embarrassed to admit that I don’t have one thing on your list in my home, even though a lot of these super foods I do enjoy. Chia seeds are one of them but they are difficult to find in my area. I always order food with these seeds in restaurants.
I always thought that mushrooms were a super food. Would you agree with me on this?
Yes they are! But there are some varieties of mushrooms that are more nutritious than others…
